It's the most wonderful time of the year... (almost)

One of my favorite holiday's is quickly approaching... Thanksgiving.  I love this holiday, not for the turkey, (which I'd rather shoot then eat) but for it's limitations on demands.  This is a holiday full of food & family.  No gifts or presents.  Just the best presents we take for granted everyday... family.

I've always had a fabulous family and am very blessed to have married into a wonderful family also.  Thanksgiving in a holiday that we can just sit and enjoy what we have been given.  This Thanksgiving will be especially bittersweet.. as my husband's family will celebrate this holiday as the last before their new granddaughter arrives, I quickly realize that it could be the last holiday I celebrate in the same state as my little sister.

So today... I ask you to be thankful.  For the simple things in life that we have all been blessed with.  Everyone's blessings are different.  But they are there.  In little baby fingers prints smudges on your glass door, loving kisses waiting for you at the door, and the few moments taken to say 'hello' to your sister across the country.  Remember the small things... because they become the big things when they're gone.

  1. What a beautiful sentiment. Thank God for you, dear daughter. How often we think we know what we want, then everything changes and we are more happy than we ever thought possible. We know 1% of nothing. God has it all in his hands. Thanking God for the people in my life, today. Oh, Sweet Lord, what does tomorrow hold, I can hardly wait!
